Thurston Wolf Pinot Gris Viognier
Availability:10 In Stock
60% pinot gris and 40% viognier
Viognier carries characteristics of peach and tropical fruit aromas with high viscosity when fully ripe. It perfectly complements Pinot Gris' delicate perfume, moderate body, minerality, and higher acidity. The various aromas conjurer the sensation of tropical islands with fruit of white peach, citrus and small hints of jasmine. The full bodied and balanced acidity finishes gently on the palate, satiating and cleansing as it unfolds.
The 2021 PGV is Thurston Wolfe’s unique blend of 51% Viognier and 49% Pinot Gris. The appellation sources for the grapes are Horse Heaven Hills (Zephyr Ridge and Coyote Canyon Vineyards – warm sites) for Viognier and the Yakima Valley (Crawford Vineyard – cool site) for Pinot Gris. Both varieties were picked in late September, blended and co-fermented in stainless steel.
The PGV can be drank on its own, preferably on a warm summer day on the patio. It also pairs incredibly well with most seafood, especially shellfish. Drink it with clam linguine, lobster tail, or even steamed mussels.
