A lovely Washington blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Verdot and Malbec

Established in 1981.
Founded in 1981, family-run Portteus Winery began when they bought land in the hills outside Zillah. They planted the first vines 32 years ago when there were only thirteen other wineries in the state of Washington. Paul Portteus resisted the belief that Washington is best-suited for Concord Grape and Riesling production. Going against the advice of industry leaders, he plated Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, and other robust Red varietals throughout the early 1980's and '90's. Paul, along with the other Washington Wine Pioneers, helped bring Washington's artisan wines into the spotlight by consistently winning high marks at the World Wine Championships in Chicago throughout the 80's and 90's. The Portteus family is now entering its second generation of winemakers, continuing to craft interesting, satisfying, and award-winning wines.
